The album production took four years, beginning with a series of improvisational recordings in 2006. Each track was recorded in (as Manos describes it) one breath, single takes in which the essential arc of the composition was firmly established. From these recordings, seven pieces were chosen. David Downes, Tim Prebble, Steve Garden and John Psathas developed the material while retaining the compositional integrity of Manos’ original single-take inspirations. The results, we feel, are exceptional.
